PUBLIC OBSERVATIONS

Throughout the year, the Observatory announces events for the general public which allow them the observations of intersting celestial bodies and phenomena (e.g. eclipses, Supermoon, planet oppositions, meteor showers, bright comets, nebulae and galaxies).

All telescope observations events are combined with planetarium programs and/or informative lectures and presentations.

Observations are also available for all those who register for our educational courses and programs at the KITION ASTRONOMY ACADEMY.

Schools, organized groups and tourists' private programs, also include telescope observations.

TYPES OF OBSERVATIONS

Optical range

Optical Telescopes are available for day and night.

Day observations may include observations of the Sun's Photosphere and/or Chromosphere (H-α)

Night observations may include Moons, planets, asterisms, nebulae, galaxies and other deep sky objects.

Radio Range

Solar or Jovian bursts and meteors can be observed using the radiotelescope.

It is possible to order customized educational/enternainment private/group observations according to your needs.
